We are closing out 2018 with a trip to Los Angeles in support of community efforts to make mental health treatment more accessible! ✈️ Proceeds from the purchases of #therapyiscool tote bags during the month of December will be donated to the Wright Institute Los Angeles (WILA)! Below is a little information provided by our friends at WILA: ① Name of the organization: Wright Institute Los Angeles (WILA) ② Founded in: 1974 ③ Services provided: Individual, couple and family therapy at an affordable price. Low-fee groups for female survivors of sexual assault, and a FREE support group for those who have experienced harassment, assault, discrimination in the work place. ④ Population served: WILA serves the diverse communities of Los Angeles by providing affordable, high-quality psychotherapy services while training the next generation of socially conscious mental health professionals. We are at the forefront of a therapy movement, changing the ways people are treated when they need help but are held back by financial, cultural and systemic barriers. ⑤ How does WILA plan to use their donated funds: 1) 1 in 6 Californians face mental health issues. Less than half receive treatment. Ensure that help is available for a young woman crippled by anxiety and perfectionism or an elderly man grieving his wife. 2) In addition, we train culturally sensitive, socially conscious therapists. Sponsor vital seminars on working with minorities, LGBTQ individuals, and the most vulnerable members of our community. 3) Our student therapists make great sacrifices to continue post-doctoral training 1-3 years longer than average. Support their commitment with scholarship funds. To learn more about WILA, please visit https://wila.org/ ⬅️
